Inspecting Sunnyside is a Master’s research project by West Virginia University journalism graduate student, Leann Ray.
Leann obtained her B.S. in journalism from WVU in 2006. She then began graduate school while working at WVU’s student newspaper, The Daily Athenaeum. During her time at the DA, Leann was a news reporter, A&E reporter, A&E editor and editor in chief.
She then took a break from graduate school while working as the health reporter at The Exponent-Telegram in Clarksburg, W.Va.
After abandoning the journalism world for a shorter commute and better paycheck as a technical writer, Leann decided she missed being in a newsroom too much and it was time to finish her Master’s degree.
In May 2012, Leann received her Master’s of Science in Journalism. Her graduate research project, “‘Inspecting Sunnyside’ – Creating a Blog About Off-Campus Student Housing and Student Issues,” is available to view on wvuScholar.
